For young rugby players, going on tour is about so much more than playing a few matches.
It is the excitement of travelling with your teammates, staying somewhere different, meeting new clubs and experiencing rugby outside your normal surroundings. Add in activities, team-building, evening entertainment and plenty of opportunities to socialise, and you have all the ingredients for a rugby weekend that players will remember for years to come.
At Burleigh Travel, our Mini & Junior Rugby Festivals are designed to bring all of these elements together, creating exciting and well-organised UK rugby tours for clubs from U7 through to junior age groups.
More Than Just a Rugby Tournament
Of course, rugby is at the heart of every festival.
Our events give teams the opportunity to play against clubs they may not normally meet, experience different styles of rugby and test themselves in a fun and competitive festival environment.
But the experience doesn’t stop when the final whistle blows.
Many of our festivals are based at holiday parks or activity centers, giving players plenty to enjoy away from the rugby pitch. Shared meals, activities, evening entertainment and time spent together all form an important part of the tour experience.
It is often these moments away from the rugby that players remember most.
A Chance to Meet New Clubs
One of the great things about attending a rugby festival is the opportunity to meet teams from different parts of the country.
Players can make new friends, coaches can build relationships with other clubs and everyone gets to experience the friendly atmosphere that makes grassroots rugby so special.
The festival environment also encourages players to mix with other teams and enjoy the social side of rugby, helping to create an experience that goes well beyond the matches themselves.
Build Stronger Teams On and Off the Pitch
A rugby tour provides something that regular training sessions simply cannot replicate.
Spending a weekend together gives players the chance to get to know their teammates away from the usual rugby environment. Travelling, eating, playing and taking part in activities together can help develop friendships, confidence and team spirit.
Our festival feedback consistently highlights the importance of these social and team-building opportunities, which is why we believe they should be a key part of every junior rugby tour.
Safe, Established and Well Organised
When organising a tour for young players, safety and organisation are understandably important considerations.
All of our mini and junior rugby festivals are RFU approved, helping to ensure that they are run in line with the governing body’s guidelines.
With more than 30 years of experience arranging sports tours, Burleigh Travel also takes care of the organisation behind the scenes, helping clubs put together a successful weekend without having to manage every element themselves.

Make Your Next Rugby Tour One to Remember
The best rugby tours are about creating memories.
It might be the excitement of the first match, celebrating together after a win, meeting a new club, taking part in an activity or simply spending time together as a team.
Those are the experiences that players remember long after their junior rugby days are over.
With our Mini & Junior Rugby Festivals 2027, you can combine competitive rugby, great accommodation, activities and team bonding into one memorable UK rugby tour.
And because many clubs return to our festivals year after year, places can be limited. Our 2026 festivals sold out in record time, so if you are planning your 2027 rugby tour, it pays to enquire early.
