General Rugby Festival Information
The Hilversum Festival draws its entrants from a range of countries and provides a fine example of how the Dutch embrace youth rugby and enjoy the social side of the game. Burleigh Travel have been arranging tours to this event for over 15 years and work very closely with the rugby club throughout the year.
Your group will be based in one of our popular holiday parks in Holland that boasts a wide range of activities, which are sure to keep your group entertained throughout the duration of your stay. This safe and secure environment also offers a bar and restaurant for the older members to enjoy.
Your Rugby Tour Itinerary
Friday 18th April 2025
Depart your club by coach where you will travel to Dover for your morning or early afternoon ferry crossing to Calais. The crossing will take approximately 1½ hours and once in France your coach will transfer you to your accommodation in Holland where the remainder of the evening will be free to make use of the facilities on the complex or explore the local area.
Saturday 19th April 2025
The morning will be free to make further use of the park’s facilities before a day trip to Amsterdam may be in order. There is a range of historic sights to keep your whole group entertained or you may wish to brave Europe’s highest swing or visit the Ajax stadium.
In the evening you will return to your accommodation where you a visit to a ten pin bowling alley or go-karting can be arranged.
Sunday 20th April 2025
You will travel to the Hilversum Youth Tournament for a feast of youth rugby. There are onsite catering facilitates and the bar will be open all day for parents to relax in between your games.
This youth rugby tournament is well established and you are likely to compete against teams from around the world before celebrating with them in the lively post match hospitality and having the opportunity to enjoy an end of tournament meal with your fellow competitors.
Monday 21st April 2025
You will have the day free until you travel to the port for your late afternoon return sailing, arriving in Dover approximately 1 ½ hours later to complete your journey home.
It is also possible to include activities such as Theme Park visits, Go Karting and Stadium Tours within your itinerary.
