General Rugby Festival Information
Octoberfest is Burleigh Travel’s newest and most exiting event in the under 16’s calendar. The weekend is designed to allow sides who normally travel in April, but are unable to do so this year due to GCSE’s the opportunity to carry on the touring tradition with a tour to remember with a break from the traditional holiday parks with arcades and limited outdoor facilities that you many have tried before. We are offering you a combination of exhilarating team building activities and an action packed day of rugby at your nearby host club.
You will be staying at Dearne Valley which is located in the beautiful rolling hills of South Yorkshire. This fantastic state of the art activity centre is spread over 50 acres of grass and woodland, with a range of challenging apparatus such as zip lines, climbing walls, high ropes and a leap of faith. The Kingswood centres won the award for the Best Residential Experience at the last School Travel Awards.
All of these activities take place in a safe and secure environment, and all of which are included in your tour package. The whole weekend is tailored to give your players a unique team building experience. You will never have experienced a sports tour quite like this!
Your Rugby Tour Itinerary
Friday 19th October 2018
You will depart your club and travel by coach to your accommodation. On arrival at Dearne Valley you will be checked in and shown to your accommodation, and given a chance to settle in.
Then the weekend’s fun begins with on of your team building activities. After this you and your team will be able to sit down and enjoy dinner at the on site facility.
Saturday 20th October 2018
Saturday is your team building and activities day and all these activities are included in the price. Combining a variety of activity sessions, from aerial adventures to fun problem solving initiatives, your team will enjoy a programme of adventure experiences which encourage them to bond and work together as a team. We’ll work to build a programme for you from a range of physically and mentally challenging activities, tailored to the age of your players to provide them with an exciting and memorable outdoor adventure.
Sunday 21st October 2018
After a team breakfast you will make your way to the Octoberfest Trophy festival based at a nearby host club. Here your team will enjoy a fantastic day of rugby playing against local and touring teams. The day will be arranged to ensure you teams plays as much rugby as possible within the RFU guidelines. The day will be orginised for U16’s only and as such is the perfect oppertunity for you to enjoy playing and watching rugby that your team can relate to.
There will be food and drink facilities on site, and an awards presentation at the end of the event.
